Meet the Models Series: Sarah Hanks (3 min read)

Allow me to introduce you to the dynamic Sarah Hanks! Wife, mom, violinist, teacher, the ultimate party planner, and thrift QUEEN! I've known of Sarah for a long time but in more recent years I've come to know her more personally. She is full of energy, enjoys life to the fullest, and is so fun to be around! She is definitely a kindred spirit. She's also one of my go-to people when I'm on my thrifting adventures and need some advice. Again, thrift QUEEN! She is an inspiration to me.
      • Hometown? Washington, DC but I grew up in Miami, FL!
      • What is your current occupation? Violinist, performer, teacher
      • What is something you're working on? How can we support you? I just formed the Capitol Hill String Quartet. Look for us on Insta and for Friday night pop ups at Lincoln Park!
      • Favorite movie from the 90s? Clueless, duh!!
      • A book you're currently reading? The Nickel Boys
      • One of your favorite clothing items in your closet? Vintage silk Christian LaCroix pants I picked up in Le Marais, Paris.
      • Complete the sentence: "I feel most beautiful when..." I'm snuggling with my boys with a cup of coffee in a silk house dress.
      • What's one thing you've done that you're super proud of? My unmedicated home birth of my third baby boy, 8lbs 13 oz, was the most rewarding, exhilarating, happiest day of my life!
      • Song title that describes your life right now? All of T. Swift's new album really!
      • One piece of fashion advice to share with our readers: Don't listen to anyone else's rules. Make your own and wear it confidently. Of course dark brown goes with black!
      • Name a woman you admire and why. Dr. Lee Stone was my high school orchestra director and when my private violin teacher said he didn't think I could get into the top school of music that I wanted, she believed in me and told me I could if I practiced three hours a day all of high school and believed in myself. I got a full scholarship to the best public school of music in the country and still have the card she gave at my high school graduation. She told me she knew I could do it!
      • Something you wish every woman knew? That I have never seen an unattractive woman in my entire life! Every woman exudes beauty in her own size, shape, color of hair, skin color, and condition. None of it matters!
