Sitting at Ebenezer's Coffeehouse last week, I had a brief conversation with a young woman at the table next to me. She asked if I was working on anything fun and since I was working on the blog, I thought it would be a great opportunity to tell her about Pulchritude. At the end of our conversation, she told me it would be great to share with my readers about capsule wardrobe collections and how awesome and helpful there are! She mentioned that she does one each season and also for her two little girls.
So the idea is that you buy a collection of approximately 20-25 essential pieces for the season that all coordinate and can be interchanged with one another. You mix and match the pieces so you can turn that small number of items into tons of different outfits. It's all about buying less and spending less but getting more out of your wardrobe. Ding ding ding!!! YES! I've heard of the concept but never knew it had a name. Now I know! From my research, it seems to be a more popular concept in Europe. Not surprising that overindulgent American people are slow to catch on. :-) I'm going to challenge myself to do this in the winter when I return to work after my maternity leave. Join me!
I've put some wonderful pins on our Pinterest board, Capsule Wardrobe Ideas. Check it out! (If you don't have a Pinterest page you should really consider getting one. But be warned! It's highly awesome and highly addictive!)
"Symplifying" fashion for you!
